The Daniel Webster Chapter of Ducks Unlimited was started in the fall of 1987 by a group of like-minded conservationists brought together by Scott & Sue Marceau and Norman Bushman of Franklin, NH. Scott was Area Chairman and Norm Bushman the original Treasurer.
Over the years the tiller was held by Scott’s brother, Joe Marceau until 1994 when Jim Cropsey took over. Thereafter, the position was held by Brian Barry with Jim Cropsey ultimately taking over again in 2003 with Scott Marceau as Co-Chairmen. From 2010 through 2013 Jon Guilmain and Dana Lamprey acted as Co-Chairmen with Jim Cropsey taking control again in 2014 through the present.
Jim Cropsey joined Ducks Unlimited in 1970. He’s a Bronze Sponsor, a Feather Society Member and a Major Sponsor. He is also Zone Chairman for the Lakes Region and Concord, NH overseeing the operations of several New Hampshire chapters.
The Daniel Webster Chapter fundraising dinner banquet and auction event has traveled within the Lakes Region from Franklin to Canterbury, New London, Guilford, Tilton, where it’s been held at La Piece – The Room, and now back to Franklin! The event has been held traditionally in the spring of each year between early March and the beginning of May.
